Re-runs

It is only 11pm so it is still too early to call it “late nights” by any country standards. The boys are fast asleep so at least I can have some alone time while watching Masterchef reruns. Btw, Christine rocks! She is just an aspiration and living proof that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

The snow has stopped and the sun has come out and plays. But, I have not been feeling well for the past 2 days and when not feeling well the taste bud just went kaput, the bitter taste just won’t go away even after a packet of butter cookies and hot chocolate. So, tomorrow I’m going to hit the streets and find myself a nice tops, perhaps...

Wise decisions

Trying to be sensible by weighing all the options and most importantly easy on the wallet, read as I don’t grow money on trees. I decided not to buy a new compact camera at Interdiscount (cheapest is at CHF80) because the picture quality is as good as my hand sketch could be.

I could buy new lenses but then the cheapest is at CHF150 for secondhand basic lenses, immediately Imbi Plaza felt like heaven on earth. I could rely on my phone camera instead and then it hit me, sheesh... I don’t even have a good camera phone.  The last options is just to rely on his 3gs iPhone and not be cranky regardless the slowness of the machine. Breath in, breath out...

Starting of 2013

It’s already the third week of 2013 so too late to wish a Happy New Year instead I wish myself the best of lucks! First my iPhone got stolen in #KLCC and that  happened two days before New Year, lame but I am still mourning over my losses while thinking about all the pictures, videos, info that I can’t recover because I cleverly skip the steps to sync to iCloud. Then, my DSLR lenses broke into pieces in between the journey from KL to Zurich, that alone makes my heart just sank even further.

Anyways, to keep the spirit ups; I need a side project that to be called as my New Year resolutions.

First, to be more committed and consistent in regularly keeping this blog updated.  Who knows I might be famous like Vivy Yusof, Hanis Zalikha, Pink Stilettos , Shaelaiza or Redmummy and gains followers…hahahaha #DreamBig

Second, to lose weight.  This is a must-do and to-do list of every woman.

Third, to invest in my own-self and that means upgrading my skills. #KeepOnLearning

Fourth, to become a better person inside and outside.

If more > 4, it will be too ambitious and hard to accomplish so I would like to set this as doable by ending it now.  With that, I say “Alles Gute”

Jet Plane

Once again we are off for another long distance journey, 20hours to be exact but since I am travelling with Iman, the travel bits have already started three days prior to the actual departure date. Refer to my travel preparation here.

I have always preferred night flight but this time it is morning flight and full house. As i anxiously waited for my turn at the check-ins counter, I was already restless; please don’t charge me with extra baggage and please don’t ask me to leave behind my supplies of canned food. Thankfully I was spot on with the kilos and it wasn’t overweight after all, impressive since I’ve always have issue in going overboard with the baggage allowance..hehe.

So, the peak of travelling with kids is that I always get a good seat with legroom at the dedicated area but the pit is that there will be other kids as well in the row. It’s like you are stuck in daycare with screaming and cranky children and nowhere to go except the lavatory and even then I have to carry Iman with me.  Luckily the guy seating next to me was nice enough to occasionally playing and entertaining Iman. He is flying as a family of four but his wife and older kids sat on the next row and during flight, his wife was having some sort of asthma attack and it was pretty scary as she look like suffocated but later on she seems to be okay. Found out that, the stewardess thought this guy is my husband, erm not….They are surprised that I travelled alone with a toddler in tow.

It was such a release when we finally arrived in Amsterdam for a downtime before onboarding connection flight to Zurich. Iman was cranky at first, understandable considering how tired and cold it was. It was snowing heavily! He also vomited twice on the plane and once at the airport. When we finally arrived to Zurich, it was such a relief. Yeay! And seeing R face…is priceless.

Oooo balik kampung…

Hati dah meronta2 tak tertahan, kalau boleh malam tu jugak encik suami nak start enjin and drive balik tapi tak sesuai lah dengan anak kecik nak travel memalam. Dah tu, kawasan yg nak lalu tu banyak kawasan kampung dan hutan rimba, kalau highway tu okay lah lagi sbb ada peronda, ada byk R&R semua…tak lah t-a-k-u-t….huhu..

Kesudahannya, pagi, lepas makan nasi dagang ulik mayang baru lah kitaorang bertolak…Dari pengamatan aku, orang Pantai Timur nie mmg suka balik kg, x kisah lah cuti sehari dua hari ker dan selalunya akan berlaku lah traffic jammed yang menyebabkan hah amik ko! 12 jam perjalanan! Makan tidur makan tidur x sampai2 nyer lagi… aku dkt belakang dah siap bergusti dengan budak kenit tu… yer lah, dia pun penat asyik dlm kereta jer nak melasak tak boleh… aku pun tension, bila nak sampai nie??!! Nak balik naik flight boleh tapi nanti sampai sana patah kaki lah plak… x der transport…

Penyejuk hati nyer bila tengok Mek, yer aku panggil mother-in-law aku Mek dia senyum simpul depan rumah bila kitaorang sampai. Muka encik suami of course lah gumbira… actually sampai jer sempadan negeri tu dia dah tersengih macam kerang busuk dah… hehe

Hari raya Aidiladha or raya haji (musim haji kan) memang lagi meriah dekat Kelantan nie and kebetulan pulak Mek ada amik bahagian (aqiqahkan utk si kenit).

Nota kaki; korang makan ker perut lembu? Aku tidak......sanggup....huhu...

A for Apple…

I only want two things from Apple which is the MacBook Pro and iPod Touch. I am extremely happy because I already have both. I won the iPod from a contest, it was newly launched as the coolest gadget to have (at that moment and in my POV still is) and I was over the moon… I took my iPod everywhere, watch movie, reading, listening music…I even buy her (yes! it’s a her…) a new sexy case, a blood red patent leather. I’ve converted and accept Apple as a part of my life and it seems natural to trade the Compaq. Painfully fork out the money but grinning from ears to ears to moment I bought my MacBook…
All the joy that Apple gives me is taken away when a burglar break into my house and stole it. Curse them! They took not just my favorite Apple but ALL my jewelry. ALL!! Including my heirloom but I’m grateful we were not at home when it happens…

Anyway, I yet to replace my apple toys and now I have another item in my wish list… iPad…So, keep on wishing till one day my "tabung ayam" is full and i can buy it all…

A for Apple, A for Angau…

 * Angau = obsess, as tidur tak lena and makan tak kenyang...

yang tinggal hanya gambar kenang-kenangan nie jer...*weeps*
miss you so much boo-boo...

random

When you start something that you like or love to do, you can’t stop. Yes? Now, whatever and whenever I see something that interesting or worth telling, I start to update my blog. Most of the times, I like a pictures to be inserted together with a post. Why? In my point of view, photos worth a thousand times more than words.

So while looking thru some random pictures i snap using BB, I just realized it consist of a full album of my son, my family, clothes, recipes (yes, too lazy to copy it down), food, my vege garden… and the picture quality is better than my Fuji Finepix camera...interesting is, after that i felt so happy... yes, looking at pictures makes me happy because it capture that moment right there and then...

yes, go ahead..snap and view...

Adoiyai

Melihat keadaan Mak, saya makin sayu...sambil berjalan kluar hospital, saya cakap dgn encik suami...

”Yang, jom kita bertaubat! Kita control makan... kita exercise...kita kena amalkan hidup cara sihat”...

Encik suami hanya senyum dan angguk...Masuk kereta, dia pun kata, jom kita pi makan McD....hurmm..

Coffee lover…

The brewing smell of a fresh good coffee always perks me up. I like it with fresh milk and brown sugar whereby my significant other likes it black. I still remember the hunts that I have with my sis in MEL to find good coffee beans to bring back to KL. We went from one shop to another, looking, feeling, smelling and tasting; we bought nearly 5kilo of coffee beans. Happy because that will last me nearly a year supply of coffee. Yes?

Apparently not, because I am also a shopping addict and fancies 1001 things so my luggage grown from two to five not including hand-carries. Enough said I have to leave half of the beans at the airport. *sobs*

Anyway, back to my coffee story.

I’m always on the lookout for a good coffee. Whenever we passed by any café which gives out free smell, it always manage to draw us in and try it. Some are disgustingly bad. Some are quite good. Some are expensive. We have not really found a combination of good and reasonable price coffee. Mind you, but for homegrown coffee (in Johor) but marketed in an upscale café cost about RM180 per half kilo is ridiculous….still can taste the bitterness…

The love I have for coffee, make me think of opening my own gourmet coffee shops. How cool is that?
Imagine coffee shops with exotic beans on display, different blend, different level of roasting, with your own favorite nook just like at-home. Pair it with crusty puff pastries, fresh scones or cheesy cheesecakes. A perfect place for that coffee dates with loved one and hanging out place for family and friends. Wonderful!

One of the exotic beans that I wanted to try is the Kopi Luwak or Civet Coffee, origins from Indonesia. It is the most expensive because of the ermmmm... unusual way of producing it. The civet or musang in malay eat the coffee fruits and they left the undigested seeds in their droppings. The droppings were collected and processed to become coffee beverage. Sound disgusting, right? But those who have drink it raves about it and it was popular way back in the Colonial times. However, the Ulama’ is still discussing of its halal status…so till then…

For our daily dosage, we settled for The Viennese from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, I buy the beans and grind it (they can grind it for you as well)…even the grinding process already excites me…our latest addition The Coffee Mio and after a bad day in the office, a steaming hot coffee while flipping through my favorite fashion magazine will take away the severity…

So, my quest as a coffee lover will never stop…

I found it annoying when people trying to fake an accent. Seriously, you sound stupid and pompous.

jadikan lah amalan..

Kalau dah kena paksa, dah tak ikhlas lah jawabnya….tapi kalau tak paksa, tak der sapa plak nak buat…

Kerja2 kebajikan nie, patut diterapkan dari kecil lagi so bila dah besar mcm iols nie tak lah berat tulang… to date, the best volunteering works yg saya pernah buat ialah ke rumah anak2 yatim…

Best bukan apa, best sbb dapat peluang utk menghiburkan hati anak2 kecil tu… diorg punya senyum sampai ke telinga tgk kitaorg dtg bawak barang2 makanan , toys, books etc.  Yg paling kecil about 1yr+, manja sangat, peluk tak nak lepas… kesudahannya, saya yg nangis bagai nak gila sedih bila nak balik…sayu hati nie terus emosi jadinya…

Yang paling mencabar, pegi bersihkan air terjun…an eye opener! Di sebalik belukar mcm2 jenis sampah korang pi tinggalkan… geli geleman ok!!  apa lah korang nie, pegi berkelah happy2 bila nak balik korang tinggalkan sampah sarap dkt situ… lain kali korang bersihkan lah…jgn nak tinggal sampah korang merata2…itu kan salah satu sumber air minum kita tu… tolong lah jaga… pesanan dari tuan tanah aka mother earth..

So kesimpulannya, mana satu nak buat nie.. nak pi tanam pokok, nak lumba lari dgn adik2 yg kurang penglihatan or nak pi bersih sungai?

Nota kaki; encik suami kata saya dah boleh join DBKL sbb dah ade certificate pernah terlibat dlm kerja2 pembersihan..working experience tau!
