a jumpstart...

One of my favorite things to do is to read, books especially.
Call me silly but whenever I buy a new book, there is a ritual that I must do before I begin. I will read the first page, middle page and end page.  Lastly, I just “smell” the book like you smell the roses…. somebody should make a perfume out of it…ahhh..

But down the road I just stop reading…Why?

Is it because books are expensive? One trip to the bookshop will burn holes in my wallet, say average cost is RM40 x 5 = RM200 and imagine if I go at least once a week. But I cannot use this as an excuse because during my college days, I just go to those rent-a-book-shops. Where you have a huge selection of books to choose from, pay the same amount but when you return the book in good condition and within a month they will charge about RM5 – RM8 as rent charges and refund the rest. Downside, the books are usually not the latest.

Then, I found a hidden gem..A bookshop that actually sells the latest collection and at a cheaper price too!! Its like a candy store for me but need to be fast as they sold out like goreng pisang panas and they did not or hardly restock.

Or I could say that in 24hours a day I have no time to sit down and read…this is so lame… but in my defense I choose to sleep because I felt the need to “recover” all the late nights I have to wake up for my son feeding time...

Truthfully, I have no valid reason to stop and I’m sure I don’t need a reason to start to read again. So the cheapest and quickest way to jumpstart, is to borrow from my sister, her book collections is awesome and never return…hahaha

Nota kaki; found out that Selangor have a spanking new, high tech public library with world class collection of books. Excited!!
