Luzern or Lucerne?

Most holiday packages that have Switzerland in their itineraries will include Lucerne so it is famous and must-go place among tourist. Besides it is only 45 minutes from Zurich HB via train and it runs every 30minutes so it is a perfect place for a day trip.

This town is filled with histories and every corner must have some pictures, paintings, sculptures to tell and share the stories and Kapellbrucke also known as The Chapel Bridge is their landmark. It is a wooden bridge that contains number of inferior paintings dating back on the 17th century. Not to forget, this town have row and row of shops selling Swiss made watches so just name your poison e.g. Omega, Rolex, Tag Heuer …

Since we are in Lucerne, we were thinking of going up to Mount Pilatus but the weather is not in favor hence we skip it; it was autumn season and has been raining non-stop so we actually went around town soaking wet. By the way, it was Saturday and they have a huge farmer markets going on, ding! ding! loved! Both of us is an adventurous lots so we like to discover and try local cuisine and we always have great times at the market. We meet this little kiwi, a hairless, thumb size and it tasted so sweet! Iman loved this…

For lunch we decided to eat at Manora Restaurant, it is an in-house restaurant in Manor (one of the famous shopping malls in Swiss), buffet style. It’s not eat all you want but the extensive spread means you get a lot of option and the price is varies depending on what you eat/drink but roughly about CHF20 per person.

Btw, R has a fascination towards the swiss army knife, very typical for a guy but I get it since it is pretty cool tools and of course he must have it. In the end, regardless how you spell Lucerne, it was a fun day :)
